At 433 yds off the white tee this is the 2nd longest hole on the course. A straight drive is essential as anything straying left brings the pond into play. Your approach is into a smallish green protected front left and right by 2 bunkers. A difficult starting hole.
The 1st par 3 on the course. The pond in front of the tee is always in the back of the mind. The green is long and relatively narrow, sloping back to front, protected left and right by bunkers. A good chance for par or better.
The most difficult hole on the front 9. A long drive up the left side is required — the green is guarded front right by a large oak tree. A pond to the left threatens any approach. A 5 is a good score for the average golfer.
A straight forward hole to get your card going. The centre bunker short of the green only troubles the longest hitters. The bank at the back can feed the ball back to the putting surface. Greens protected left and right by bunkers. A birdie opportunity.
A driveable green for the brave. The fairway runs left to right. The green is protected at the front by 2 bunkers and anything long is difficult to recover from. The green slopes front to back and left to right — you do well to 2-putt.
A beauty of a short par 3. The green is protected front right by a pond that plays on the mind. A bunker sits to the left. The green slopes left to right. Take a par and move on.
A straight tee shot is essential — the canal is out of bounds right. If you avoid the OOB, you face a blind shot in. Any ball pitching short on the down slope risks a nasty kick through the green to dense rough at the rear. A tricky green with many borrows.
From an elevated tee to a green well protected by bunkers left and right. Trees lining the fairway punish any wayward drive. A good tee shot leaves a short pitch in. The green has interesting borrows but you should expect to par this hole.
A straight tee shot is essential — left or right of the fairway and there is little hope of hitting the green in 2. The bank in front will stop any short shot. The green is large with subtle borrows. A solid finish to the front 9.
A short par 4 to start the back 9. From the tee the green looks inviting but the approach is trickier than it appears. Bunkers protect both sides of the green. A good chance to make birdie and settle into the back nine.
A testing par 3 with a large green. Club selection is key — the green slopes and anything off target leaves a difficult up-and-down. Bunkers flank the green on both sides. Par is a solid score here.
Our signature hole — an absolute beauty with danger written all over it. Laying up at the gulley that makes the dog leg is the only realistic option. You must be left to have even a slight view of the green. The green runs front to back and is difficult to stop the ball on. A par is an excellent score.
The nemesis of many a member. On paper an easy par — downhill, wide fairway. But OOB right acts like a magnet. The pond at 90 yds left shouldn't come into play. The fairway slopes towards a green protected by 2 bunkers right. Anything long runs down the bank or out of bounds.
A dog leg right with OOB all the way down the right. Your drive must go over the large tree on the left to find the left side of the fairway — anything right leaves a blind shot. Two bunkers sit at the angle of the dog leg. An easy approach awaits if you find the fairway.
Understood to be the 5th longest par 3 in Cheshire. Make a decision — do you gamble and go for the green or lay up short of the ditch for an easy pitch? The large green is protected both sides by bunkers. Stroke Index 7 for a reason. Fortune does not always favour the brave.
The stroke index 1 hole. Favours a draw — a fade or slice and you are in trouble. A ditch at 155 yds splits the fairway. Then a turn left up the hill to an elevated green. Be short of the pin for an uphill putt — past it, and good luck coming back.
A downhill par 3. OOB to the left and rear of the green, a bunker front right that gives the greenkeeper a sadistic option for a pin position. Club selection is everything on this downhill tee shot. Hitting the green is the priority.
The only par 5 on the course and a fitting finish. At 520 yards from the white tee, a long final hole up to the clubhouse. Three shots required for most. Complete your round and enjoy the famous view from the 18th balcony.
